About Yash Verma

A youngster of Indian-origin making waves from another corner of the Indian ocean. Yash Verma, a hardworking, spirited, self-confessed Sachin Tendulkar fan, started his cricket journey from the grounds of Muscat, Oman by being a part of his school U-19 team and progressed forward to be a part of the U-16, eight nation tournament conducted by the Asian Cricket Council. Scoring 107 in 96 balls in a match against Maldives, to becoming the youngest in the world to score a century in international cricket tournament, the young keeper-batsman has got many laurels to his name. Making his team, and family proud. A proud father Akshay Verma in an interview to Oman Times recalled ‘ Yash has always been keenly interested in cricket and first picked the bat and ball at the age of 6, its been no looking back since then’.



Some other significant achievements to his account include, The Man of the Match Award for U-13 Oman local tournament at the age of 11. Man of the Match in BOC tournaments held at Australia and UK. Represented India as opening batsman vs Oman, in International Celebrity Cricket League match, and received the Man of the Match Award. From all his achievements and working with the team as one entity, he has continued to learn and grow as a player and is dedicated in putting his best foot forward on the pitch and outside.
