About Yash Verma
A youngster of Indian-origin making waves from another corner of the Indian ocean. Yash Verma, a hardworking, spirited, self-confessed Sachin Tendulkar fan, started his cricket journey from the grounds of Muscat, Oman by being a part of his school U-19 team and progressed forward to be a part of the U-16, eight nation tournament conducted by the Asian Cricket Council. Scoring 107 in 96 balls in a match against Maldives, to becoming the youngest in the world to score a century in international cricket tournament, the young keeper-batsman has got many laurels to his name. A proud father Akshay Verma in an interview to Oman Times recalled ‘ Yash has always been keenly interested in cricket and first picked the bat and ball at the age of 6, its been no looking back since then’.
